Chapter 246 Confession
Chapter 246 Confession
Lin Yue was right after all.
Su Wanqing and Zhao Yuan's relationship will definitely not last long.
Two months later, one evening, Song Huan was lying in bed scrolling through her phone when a QQ message popped up on the screen.
It was sent by someone who isn't a friend.
He clicked on it and was stunned.
It's Su Wanqing.
Su Wanqing, who deleted him a long time ago.
The friend request read, "Song Huan, it's me, add me."
Song Huan stared at the line of text for several seconds.
My finger hovered over the screen. After hesitating for a moment, I finally clicked "agree."
Su Wanqing replied to her messages almost instantly.
"Song Huan, Zhao Yuan is a scumbag. I regret it. I only realize now that you are the one who loves me the most."
Messages kept popping up, like water flowing from a burst dam.
"I found out he has other women outside, but he won't admit it."
"I said let's break up, and he said let's break up without even trying to stop me."
"Song Huan, I'm really heartbroken. Are you free tonight? How about we go out for dinner? I want to see you."
Song Huan's mind was buzzing.
He stared at the screen, unsure of what to say.
My fingers typed a few words on the keyboard, deleted them, typed a few more, and deleted them again.
Finally, he exited the chat interface and opened Lin Yue's chat window.
"Song Xiaoshuai: Su Wanqing added me. She said she wants to treat me to dinner."
"Heartbroken girl: ???"
"The heartbroken girl: What did she say?"
Song Huan sent back what Su Wanqing had told her.
Lin Yue replied quickly.
"Heartbroken girl: Come to my house now."
Song Huan immediately changed her shoes and went out.
The streetlights were on, casting a dim yellow light on the road.
He walked very fast, almost jogging.
When I arrived at Lin Yue's house, the door was already open.
Lin Yue stood at the door, wearing a loose T-shirt, her hair casually tied up, and without makeup.
She abandoned her usual languidness and entered a fighting state.
"Come in." She turned and went inside, with Song Huan following behind, changing her shoes.
Lin Yue sat on the sofa, cross-legged, holding his phone. On the screen was a message from Song Huan to Su Wanqing.
She looked at it once, then again, and then looked up.
"The fact that she contacted you means she's alone now. Zhao Yuan dumped her, and she's feeling empty and needs someone to fill that void."
Song Huan sat beside him, her hands on her knees, gripping her trouser legs.
Lin Yue put down her phone and leaned forward.
"She's feeling down right now, and that's when she's most vulnerable. If you show up now, comfort her, and stay with her, she'll easily become dependent on you. This is your chance."
Song Huan sounded a little nervous. "What should I do now?"
"What should we do?" Lin Yue stood up and grabbed his wrist. "Then you're definitely going to confess your feelings!"
Song Huan was pulled to her feet, staggering slightly. "Now? Isn't that too fast?"
"What's so urgent?" Lin Yue had already reached the door to change her shoes. "Opportunity waits for no one. You're meeting her tonight, right?"
Song Huan nodded.
"That's right. Can you even see her in your current state?"
She looked him up and down: a faded T-shirt, old jeans, messy hair, and bangs almost touching his eyes.
She shook her head. "Let's go buy clothes first."
Song Huan was pulled out the door by her, went downstairs, and walked on the street.
"Maybe we should just forget about it, I..."
Lin Yue stopped, turned around, and looked at him.
"Do you still want to be with Su Wanqing?"
Song Huan was silent for a moment, then said, "I want to."
Lin Yue nodded. "Then let's not waste any more words."
The mall was about to close, so Lin Yue dragged him around the men's clothing section and picked out a dark blue suit.
It's not a formal dress; it's casual, made of soft fabric, and has a clean cut.
"Go try it on." She shoved the clothes into his hands and pushed him into the fitting room.
Song Huan changed and came out, standing in front of the mirror.
Lin Yue stood behind him, tilting her head to look.
The suit's shoulder line is just right, the waist is perfectly fitted, and the trouser legs are the perfect length.
She stared in disbelief, "He's actually quite handsome now that he's dressed up."
Song Huan felt a little embarrassed by her praise, but the reflection in the mirror did indeed look very different from before.
He was like a completely different person; he was more energetic, more upright, and even his eyes looked different.
"Alright, this is it." Lin Yue went to the counter to pay, picked up the bag of old clothes, and pulled him out of the mall.
The barbershop is on the street corner, and its lightbox is still on.
Lin Yue said a few words to the hairdresser and asked him to sit down.
The scissors snipped away, and strands of hair fell down.
Song Huan closed her eyes and listened to the sound of the scissors.
When I opened my eyes, the person in the mirror had changed.
My bangs were cut short, revealing my forehead.
The sides were neatly trimmed, and I felt much more refreshed.
Lin Yue stood beside him, looked at him, and nodded. "Hmm, not bad."
After the hairdresser finished washing and drying her hair, Lin Yue checked her phone and then pulled him outside, saying, "Hurry, hurry, the flower shop is about to close."
The flower shop is at the entrance of the alley, and the owner is collecting the buckets from the doorway.
Lin Yue ran inside, picked out a bunch of red roses, nineteen in total, wrapped in white paper and tied with a ribbon.
She paid for the flowers and slipped them into Song Huan's hand.
Song Huan held the bouquet of roses and looked at Lin Yue.
Her face was flushed red, reflected in the flowers.
He opened his mouth, as if to say something.
Lin Yue had already checked her phone. "Hurry, hurry, there's no time!"
She hailed a taxi, opened the door, and pushed him inside.
He got in as well, closed the car door, and said, "Driver, to Nanjiang Hotel."
The taxi sped along the street, the streetlights outside the window receding one by one.
Lin Yue sat next to him, still saying, "When you see her later, don't be nervous. First, ask her how she's been, listen to her without interrupting. Wait until she finishes speaking before you speak. First, tell her how you've felt lately, then tell her you still like her, and finally hand her the flowers."
Song Huan listened in silence, clutching the bouquet of roses tightly in her arms, her palms sweating.
"Remember, be sincere, look her in the eye, and don't look away."
Song Huan nodded.
"Also, speak louder when you talk, don't be as quiet as a mosquito. You're going there to confess your feelings, not to apologize."
Song Huan nodded again.
The car stopped.
The restaurant was right in front of us, brightly lit, and we could see people inside through the glass.
Lin Yue glanced out the car window and saw Su Wanqing.
She sat by the window, wearing a white dress, her hair down, looking a little tired, but still very beautiful.
Lin Yue turned back and looked at Song Huan.
"She's there, go."
Song Huan took a deep breath, placed her hand on the car door, and didn't move.
Lin Yue patted him on the shoulder.
"Go for it. You have to fight for the woman you love. Go, tell the whole world that only you can bring her happiness."
She smiled and said, "Then I'll take her to the amusement park, take her on the Ferris wheel, and make her the happiest girl in the world."
She opened the car door. "Song Huan, tonight is your stage!"
