Chapter 123 Rebellion
Chapter 123 Rebellion
monster?
Levi felt that Lawrence might be a more suitable name.
But now is not the time to get hung up on a name.
Li Wei quickly forgot about the impolite address and placed the table leg he was holding on the other person's neck.
"I almost forgot to ask, what's your name?"
Li Wei was as polite as ever, but his actions still startled the other person.
"Alaric...Alaric Mason."
Li Wei pondered the name for a moment.
"Ararik...of Indian descent?"
The other person nodded stiffly.
"Alright, Alaric, please tell me now, where you come from and what your purpose is?"
Aracri seemed terrified and confessed quite honestly.
"We are mercenaries, employed by Marty Cross, come..."
Aracri hesitated for a moment until the table leg moved forward slightly and slashed his neck.
"...to silence them."
Li Wei frowned slightly.
But it wasn't because of silencing him, but because of the surname "Cross".
This reminded him of "Victor Cross," the man who betrayed him.
He had done his research before boarding the ship. There was indeed a person on board named Marty, but she was the casino's technical director on the Platinum Star, and her full name was "Marty Harros".
Levi turned to look at Drake and Etris.
At this moment, Etris helped Drake to a chair and asked Adapt, who hadn't had time to run, to bring a first-aid kit so she could personally bandage Drake's wounds.
Although Drake looked covered in blood, Levi could tell at a glance that none of his injuries were vital; he was just "feigning distress."
"Hey! Excuse me, this guy was sent by Marty Cross to kill you both, or at least one of you, to silence you. Can't you two just show a little normal attitude? You can stop being all lovey-dovey later, okay?"
Li Wei tentatively spoke up.
However, to Levi's surprise, Drake looked completely bewildered.
Who is Mattie Cross?
Eris, however, asked incredulously, "Marty? The casino's 'Technical Director'? Why?"
Li Wei followed up on the conversation.
"Isn't the casino's technical director named Marty Harros?"
Etricia frowned and glanced at Levi, but ultimately told him anyway.
"Harros is Marty's mother's surname. She took her mother's surname after her parents divorced."
Okay, Li Wei understands now.
However, new questions have arisen.
Could this Matty Cross be related to Victor Cross?
Li Wei turned his head back and looked at Aracle.
Because it concerned "Victor Cross," Levi's gaze was exceptionally cold.
But Alakri misunderstood.
He suddenly knelt on the ground and shouted.
"Don't kill me! Marty Cross isn't just going to kill that redhead! She's going to kill everyone! At least that's what her lover, Herman Claude, says!"
Li Wei paused in his movements.
Herman Claude, captain of the Platinum Star.
But that's not the most important thing right now.
What does "everyone" mean?
Li Wei was somewhat puzzled.
Seeing that his "revelation" had worked, Alakri immediately revealed more.
"Marty Harros secretly continued his money laundering and fraud business, as well as casino cheating and fraud, without the knowledge of Tessa Hamilton, the owner of the Platinum Star."
"She saw you pull the equipment out from under the table on the surveillance camera. Fearing that the news would leak out, she sent us to 'take care of' it."
These words stunned Li Wei for a moment.
He didn't expect that this was a triple misunderstanding.
He mistakenly believed that the Platinum Star was still engaged in illegal business and casino fraud.
Etricia misunderstood that he was cheating to win money.
Marty Harros interpreted his act of "catching him in the act" as a kind of threat.
And so, amidst the chaos, things have turned out this way...
"This is... incredibly unlucky."
Li Wei sighed and put down the table leg he was holding.
Alacrick breathed a sigh of relief.
Before he could catch his breath, Li Wei kicked him in the head.
Aracle passed out and collapsed to the ground.
Levi turned around to face Etris and pointed at Aracle with his thumb.
"Your internal matters should be resolved internally. I have no intention of getting involved."
"You guys are lucky today. You exchanged my chips for checks. Once the ship docks, I'll leave with my men."
As for his misunderstanding of his "friend" Tessa, Levi didn't take it to heart.
He helped Tessa uncover the "Marty Harros" bomb, which should be enough to offset his "mischief".
As for the money he won... consider it a loan.
Yes, it's an interest-free loan. He can pay it back to Tessa when he has more money in the future.
Yes, if I have the means, I'll pay it back; if not, I'll just keep owing it.
With that in mind, Li Wei decided not to linger any longer and prepared to leave the VIP reception room, leaving it to Drake and Etris.
From then on, whether they were doing "official business" or "private business" was none of his concern.
Even if they open fire on the spot, it's none of his business.
Just as Li Wei's hand touched the doorknob, his phone suddenly rang.
Li Wei took it out and saw a number labeled "traitor" come into view.
"Hey David, what's up?"
David's voice came through the phone immediately, but it was very low and he sounded very cautious.
"Boss..."
"It seems there's... an armed mutiny on board."
Li Wei frowned and looked at the fallen Aracle.
Damn it! I called too early! I should have asked a couple more questions!
However, Li Wei knew that with his skill level, it was unrealistic to wake Alaric up again in a short time.
Fortunately, he now has other "insiders" he can ask.
"What's going on?"
Li Wei waited a moment before receiving David's reply.
"The crew members, armed with weapons, have taken control of the people in the casino, and they are now confiscating the guests' jewelry, cash, and other valuables."
"They also planned to extort money from those guests."
"I'm hiding in the bathroom right now, boss. I think those guys probably never intended to leave any survivors..."
Li Wei felt that David's judgment was quite accurate. After all, the guests on the ship were all rich and powerful. If they were allowed to leave alive, subsequent retaliation would definitely follow.
If it were him doing this, he definitely wouldn't leave anyone alive.
Where are you now?
Li Wei inquired about the situation of David and the others.
"I'm currently hiding with our own people in a hotel room they've searched. We'll be ready to escape in a lifeboat soon. Boss, you'd better hurry, we probably can't wait for you for long."
Li Wei scoffed at David's words.
"I think you're not just unable to wait long, you're not planning to wait at all, are you?"
David, however, vehemently denied it.
"How could that be, boss?"
"We're out of weapons right now, so we can't even help the boss. Our biggest contribution is not to hold him back."
"Besides, boss, you're so amazing, you'll definitely be fine."
Li Wei pursed his lips.
"It's easier said than done."
Li Wei made no attempt to hide his doubts, but then he immediately began to give instructions.
"Since you're going to run, then hurry up. But you have to take care of the others; if even one of them dies, I'll take your life."
David remained silent for a moment, but ultimately did not give a complete answer.
"Boss, all I can say is that I'll do my best."
Li Wei sneered.
"You seem to have misunderstood something."
"This is not a request, it is a command."
"If you dare disobey orders, I will kill you without mercy."
After saying that, Li Wei hung up the phone and asked Iris a question.
"Where is the ship's armory?"
