Chapter 56 May My Soul Return to the Golden Throne
Chapter 56 May My Soul Return to the Golden Throne
John cocked the gun, and the precise sound of the mechanism turning rang out, a crisp sound like a thunderclap crashing in Joseph's heart.
Suddenly, Titus pressed down on John's hand. John looked at Titus in shock and anger, while Joseph, as if he had found his only lifeline, clung to Titus and begged for mercy frantically.
Titus didn't explain, but patted John on the shoulder and gave him a look that resembled Captain America's "trust me" look. John hesitated for a moment and took a half step back, but the gun in his hand was still pointed at Joseph. He would shoot decisively at the slightest movement.
Titus turned to look at Joseph and said slowly:
"Tell me where your father usually hides. This is your only chance."
Joseph, with only a sliver of reason left, frantically released dangerous signals, saying:
"How can I tell you this? If you—"
Titus shook his head and smiled:
"Do you have any other chances? I only need one minute from this god of death beside me."
Joseph opened his mouth as if to speak, but his throat kept swallowing as if he was choking.
In mid-air, Titus's gentle voice rang out again:
"You may not know this, but I am actually a devout believer. I, Jack Vizra, hereby promise Joseph Tarasov, answer my questions, and I will take you to an incredibly wonderful place, absolutely safe!"
"Tick-tock, tick-tock, the clock is ticking, Mr. Joseph..."
Joseph's forehead was dripping with sweat. Finally, in the last second of Titus's countdown, he shouted:
"The Little Russian Church in Brooklyn!"
After calling out the answer, Joseph looked expectantly at Titus, who smiled more deeply and then slowly said:
"I will pray for you after you die, and that you will return to the Golden Throne."
After saying this, he took a half step back and handed the item to John; he had gotten what he wanted.
Joseph's face turned deathly pale! He said angrily:
"You bastard! You lied to me! You can't treat me like this!"
"Who would want to go to a place like that? It doesn't sound like a good place at all!"
John Wick walked slowly forward.
Joseph began to beg for mercy frantically:
"Please! Please stop!"
Joseph, with snot running down his face, crawled over and awkwardly clung to John's leg, but John kicked him to the ground in disgust!
"You owe me one, that's right! Yes! It was that night when I smashed up your house. I could have killed you, but I didn't. You should let me go this time!"
Seeing that John remained unmoved, Joseph quickly came up with a clever idea:
"My father, Vigo Tarasov! I can give you my family business, I can give you all of my family's businesses, okay?"
He paused, then steeled himself and began to sob:
"I'll transfer the family business to you, and I'll give you my father too, okay? You can do whatever you want with him!"
"Hey John, you love your wife, don't you? I can get the family to invest in building a brain-computer interface; we've been keeping an eye on this technology! That way you can see her every day!"
Joseph began to ramble incoherently, his body trembling uncontrollably with fear of death:
"Just tell me what to do! I'll do anything for you! I'll even eat a penis! Please, I'll do anything!"
"It's just a car, a dog, and a house!"
"Are you trying to humiliate me?! Do you want me to eat your shit?! I'll eat your shit!"
John pulled the trigger, and the world seemed to be silenced by the sound of the gunshot. The steel-core bullet pierced Joseph's skull, and strawberry juice splattered out.
The bar was deserted; the cold lights fell haphazardly, the fallen corpses smeared their own vibrant colors, the overturned ice buckets, the broken disco balls, and the shattered plates of expensive food—all of this transformed this upscale club into a crazy playground for mischievous children!
Titus begins his post-event remarks:
"Good heavens, John, I never expected that you, with your seemingly aloof and cool demeanor, would actually listen to this guy's rambling and begging for mercy for so long. Are you some kind of unexpected person?"
John glanced at him and replied:
"It's like seeing the shadow of an old friend; a sudden surge of interest."
"Okay, we've wasted enough time. Waiting for the police to arrive will only waste more time."
John readily agreed, and the two of them headed toward the inner passage. They planned to leave the club through a secret door on the first floor. It was not surprising for a club of this caliber to have one or two escape routes; such things were as common as the secret doors of a shabby pink pub.
However, just as Titus walked to a large overturned table, something unexpected happened!
Suddenly, one of the table legs cracked open, and a 9mm bullet burst out. Titus instinctively used his arm to block it, and after a heavy thud, the bullet flew off! Perkins unleashed an astonishing leaping power, and in that instant, Titus thought of a creature—a praying mantis.
Mantises are masters of ambush, and they can unleash a jumping force 5-10 times greater than their own!
"Are you covered in steel plates, big guy!"
In the animal kingdom, where natural selection and survival of the fittest prevail, Perkins would undoubtedly be an excellent mantis hunter. Taking advantage of the moment when Titus parried, she leaped onto Titus, her feet wrapping around his waist like scissors. From her waist, she pulled out her final killing move—a military dagger!
Perkins thrust his ice pick-like dagger toward Titus's heart, but John, having run out of bullets, reacted quickly, grabbing Perkins's hair and pulling him back! He was about to pull out his tie and strangle Perkins to death.
However, something unexpected happened. Titus pressed Perkins' back and pulled him into the young lady's arms. With a loud clang, the blade of the military dagger shattered. Perkins was pulled into Titus' arms, and before the flying shards could reach her, they tore open her abdomen.
"So I didn't kill you, Miss Perkins?"
"Then please tell me who sent you?"
Titus's imposing body pressed against Miss Perkins's graceful form; he could feel the softness pressing against her chest. Under John's lustful gaze, Perkins completely slumped into Titus's arms.
But Titus knew this was very technical, so he carefully controlled his strength, not wanting the blade in her abdomen to shatter completely, but instead slowly tearing it apart with his loving embrace.
Titus's love turned into thick blood, dripping onto the ground.
Perkins' beautiful eyes widened in shock as waves of excruciating pain shot through her abdomen. Her mouth gaped open, almost unable to speak, and blood slowly oozed from it.
"Tell me something, Miss Perkins, please."
Perkins stared at Titus with his handsome face for a long moment before struggling to utter:
"Vigo Tarasov."
"Thank you, may your soul rest in peace on the golden throne..."
After saying this, Titus closed his eyes and slowly exerted force in his arms. After a moment, he felt as if a water-filled balloon had burst in front of his chest.
He opened his eyes and looked at John:
"Friend, we only need to deal with the final big boss now. Where is it again... the Little Russian Church, right?"
"What are you standing there for? What, do you also want to return to the Golden Throne?"
