The last method is Czochralski growth, in which polycrystalline material is melted in a growth pool to form a mother liquor, and then a single crystal seed crystal or mother crystal is placed into the mother liquor.
By pulling up the seed crystal, the material crystals of the mother liquor are adsorbed onto the seed crystal. In this way, new single crystal layers can be solidified and grown layer by layer according to the structure of the seed crystal. This is the production process for manufacturing single crystal silicon wafers.
In addition, these three processes have led to various production control technologies, such as gradient solidification, zone melting, and sublimation.
However, regardless of the process and technology, the temperature control, purity control, and time control during the production of single crystal materials must be extremely precise. Even the slightest deviation can lead to the failure of the entire material production process.
This is also why, although the third-generation single-crystal nickel-based alloy laboratory has been established for many years, mass production has yet to materialize.
